Already at the design reviews A-Train had concerns about the GRP nose cone. Latrer, operational experience shoved that a redesign was needed. The modification of an existing design would be difficult, and Transrail was entrusted with the task to manage this work on behalf of ATrain.
 Arlanda Express Settlement Agreement.
Management of the Settlement Agreement action plan to finalise the delivery of the rolling stock. The plan included technical issues to be finalised by the supplier in order to receive customer acceptance.

In 1997 A-Train engaged Transrail to assist in customer management of the GEC-Ahlstom (Alstom) delivery of the Arlanda Express shuttle trains. Reviewing design, manufacturing and project schedule Transrail staff also supervised manufacturing and type/commissioning tests, and before traffic start identified and supervised necessary modifications of the trains
 Software tool to evaluate operational and maintenance statistics
During the first years of operation of the Arlanda Express, Transrail managed the reliability monitoring programme. Information on traffic and vehicle disturbances from drivers, the traffic control centre and the workshop was compiled in a database, enabling analysis of train and subsystem reliability, traffic consequences and maintenance actions.

The work included daily issues as regards the maintenance at the workshops, various problems management and technical problems etc. Among other things an internet based IT-tool to manage and monitor the maintenance production was developed.

 Analysis of a new intermodal transport system for Rail Combi
Rail Combi (CargoNet), the main intermodal railway operator in Sweden, wanted to make a major change of their rail production scheme. Transrail analysed the planned train and wagon circulation, impacts on the wagon fleet and kilometre performance. Successfully solved using Transrail's TSDA tool with new software routines to minimise wagon empty runs.

Assessment of a heavy iron ore railway in northern Brazil. The mission included the entire railway operation of the 900 km line (vehicles, signalling, fixed installations, maintenance, operation, train control and safety issues).

 Railway Rolling Stock Maintenance Services in Sweden
In 2001 the Swedish government launched a process to sell EuroMaint, former technical division of SJ, and still Sweden’s largest railway rolling stock maintainer. During the international bidding Siemens Transportation contracted Transrail for part of the due diligence. After due consideration Siemens withdraw from bidding, and later on the selling process was stopped.

 Models for calculation of vehicle empty runs
SIKA and the Swedish rail, road and maritime administrations cooperate on a national model for goods transport – Samgods, to carry out transportation forecasts, to identify and to study effects of infrastructure investments. Using our TSDA system Transrail built a realistic model to calculate empty runs (railway, road, sea), which is an essential part of the traffic flows.
 Comparison of the STAN and TSDA transport models
SIKA and the Swedish rail, road and maritime administrations cooperate on a national model for goods transport - Samgods. To get new input on freight transport modelling SIKA ordered a study to compare Transrail’s tool TSDA with the INRO tool STAN that had been used for transportation forecasts, to identify and to study effects of infrastructure investments.

The Swedish Railway Administration is doing a feasibility study on high-speed (250-320 km/h) passenger train services in Sweden, in particular the corridor Stockholm – Linköping – Jönköping - Gothenburg. As a part of this study, Transrail was contracted to do a calculation of the operational costs of such traffic. The study included all cost elements of the operation, in specific estimates on the investment and maintenance of suitable types of rolling stock.
